In this live 3-hour webinar, we will cover the key corporate tax, form and program changes being implemented in Corporate Taxprep 2023 V1.0 as well as discuss proposed tax changes that may impact your corporate tax planning and future T2 filings.

 

DETAILS

During the webinar we will review various tax and form changes implemented in Corporate Taxprep 2022 v.2.2 (released February 2023) and in Corporate Taxprep 2023 v.1.0, which is scheduled for release May 23, 2023. This will include a discussion of the new electronic filing option for Form T2054 Election for a Capital Dividend Under Subsection 83(2) as well as Schedule 89, Request for Capital Dividend Account Balance Verification. 

We will also review other recent status of tabled and proposed tax legislation, provide an update on previously announced tax measures, and highlight the most significant items from the recent Federal and Provincial budgets. In addition, we will provide an update on the filing requirements for corporations under the new Underused Housing Tax.

All attendees will receive a link to [VM1] a PDF of the slides[VM2]   in advance of the session.  The material will also be available for download during the session.  This session is intended for current users of Corporate Taxprep software.

Sue Deakin, CPA, CA, MAcc & Maureen Vance, B. Com., CA, CPA

Sue Deakin is a Professor of Accounting, specializing in tax, in the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. She also teaches Corporate and Personal Taxation for Nipissing University. Sue earned her undergraduate degree and MAcc from the University of Waterloo and her CPA designation thereafter. She completed her co-op education with Arthur Andersen & Co in Toronto and continued to work at AA& Co. in Taxation upon graduation. She then worked for 15 years as VP Finance in a property management company before pursuing a teaching career. Sue has been assisting with the Wolters Kluwer webinars and seminars since the Fall of 2019.

 

Maureen Vance obtained her CA with Peat Marwick Mitchell (a predecessor of KPMG) and joined Taxprep (now part of Wolters Kluwer) in 1985. She completed the CICA In-depth tax course in 1991, and since 2002, she has been a consultant to Wolters Kluwer on tax and compliance issues. Maureen researches and writes material on tax planning and compliance and presents seminars and webinars on various tax and software topics to accounting firms across Canada. She is a member of the CRA-CPA Canada Technology Working Group, a contributor to the CPA Canada Tax Risk Management Guide, a contributing author for the Wolters Kluwer publications Preparing Your Corporate Tax Returns and Preparing Your Partnership Returns and a frequent contributor to various other Wolters Kluwer Canada publications, including Tax Topics.
